About Sierra Industries

Established in early 1983 in south-central Texas, Sierra Industries is largest aircraft modification center in the world specializing in Citation 500/501SP aircraft maintenance and performance modifications. With over 300 FAA-approved STC’s (Supplemental Type Certificates), Sierra has a long and distinguished history of developing reliable, well-engineered modifications to enhance the performance, utility and comfort of the Citation aircraft series.

Preceded by Sierra re-engining innovations such as the Eagle 400, FJ44 Eagle II and Stallion, the Sierra Super II enjoys the added power of the Williams FJ44-3A engine, climbing directly to 43,000 ft. and accelerating to a high Mach number. With its enhanced fuel specifics, 1,775 NM range, and ample max fuel payload, the Super II is the perfect aircraft for intermediate-length trips carrying a crew and eight passengers to and from airports that demand high performance.

The Super II modification is available for owners and operators of Cessna Citation 550 and 551SP aircraft, with a down time of 8 -10 weeks for installation. Other available Sierra options include upgraded avionics packages, new paint and interior treatments, long-range fuel tanks, cargo doors and more. For those without an existing Citation II for modification, complete turnkey Super II aircraft are also available for sale from Sierra.

Building on Sierra’s 25 years of Citation modification history and 15 years of experience in Citation re-engining, the Super II development program has been leveraged from the popular and proven Eagle II and Stallion modifications, which feature Williams International’s FJ44 advanced turbofan engines. Super II FAA certification is expected soon and is possible because of Sierra’s history of producing some 40 FJ44 re-engined Citations since 2002, logging over 15,000 flight hours to date.

Sierra’s next FJ44 re-engining program involves adding 2820 lb. thrust Williams FJ44-3A engines to the Cessna S550 Citation S-II model. With an increase of nearly 1000 lbs. thrust and a range of over 2300 NM, the Super S-II promises a stunning improvement in across-the-board performance. The Super S-II program is well underway with FAA approval expected within a few months of the Super II STC. With the addition of the extended-range fuel cell modification, the Super S-II XR becomes a true transcontinental aircraft with a maximum range of over 3,000 miles.
